About Klok

The history of Soap Factory De Klok goes back to 1902. “Soap is made here that sounds like a clock”, was the statement of Johannes Lodewijk van Apeldoorn who decided in 1902 to set up the family business Soap Factory De Klok in the town of Heerde, on the edge of the Veluwe. That statement later gave rise to the name of the detergent “Klok”. (Clock in Dutch is Klok)

The trusted and Dutch Klok brand has been around for more than 100 years. The environment has always been important to Klok. For example, Klok had the first phosphate-free detergent on the European market and Klok was the first to introduce a compact washing powder. As a logical consequence, all Klok products have been awarded the European Ecolabel since 2001. The latest innovation are the phosphate-free dishwasher tablets. These multifunctional dishwasher tablets are also provided with a water-soluble film.

In addition to the important environmental aspect, Klok also attaches great value to products that are skin-friendly. The products therefore do not contain perfume and dyes. The products of Klok used to be provided with the Skin Allergy Seal of the Skin Fund. Since 2019, Klok’s complete range has been assessed and approved by the Asthma Allergy Nordic label. Asthma Allergy Nordic label is a collaboration between the asthma and allergy organizations in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. A new label that makes it easier to find soft products that have been selected with care.
When you see the logo on a product, you can be sure that the product does not contain perfume and that a critical review of the recipe has been performed. Products with the Asthma Allergy Nordic logo are considered beneficial for those who suffer from asthma, allergy or other sensitivity and for anyone who wants to avoid products with perfumes and allergens.

2002: Klok brand exists 100 year.
2004: Klok Eco washing powder color is tested as the best washing powder in the Consumer Association test.
2006: Klok Eco is the first detergent that is certified with the Skin fund quality mark.
2006: 1st in the Netherlands with phosphate-free “All-in-1” dishwasher tablets with water-soluble foil.
2014: In January Senzora BV from Deventer takes over the brand “Klok” from Dalli from Heerde.
2015: The new desingns of the Klok logo and artwork on the packaging are introduced in February
2015: In June the range of Klok is expanded with: Klok liquid detergent in white and color and Klok fabric softener.
2015: In September, the improved recipe of Klok dishwasher tablets is introduced. The tablet has a better drying and salting effect and is more concentrated.
2016: In March Klok hand soap is introduced. The hand soap is skin-friendly and ecological, packed in a 250ml bottle made of 100% recycled material.
2016: Klok pow(d)er dose is introduced in July. A unique concept, in which washing powder is packed in water-soluble foil.
2018: in March Klok became a business friend of the Longfonds.
2018: In June, Klok dishwasher tablets were certified with the Asthma Allergy Nordic label.
2018: Starting in July, Klok will offer its products in its own webshop, so that consumers can also buy Klok’s products directly via www.klok-eco.nl/bestel-online.
2019: In April 2019, the Klok XXL washing powder white and XXL washing powder color packages, suitable for no less than 74 washes, were added to the range.
